When I interviewed Amber Jones back in 2021, she shared five fundamental strategies that will help any credit repair business grow their customer base.

I’m going to walk you through those now so that you can make more money per client, too!

#1 - Set Clear Expectations

The journey begins the moment a client considers your service. Clear, achievable expectations form the foundation of trust. On your website, in your first conversations with clients, and all throughout the client relationship, being honest about your services, what you can deliver, and when will form a foundation of trust.

#2 - Under-Promise and Over-Deliver

This old saying is always a best practice for every business owner. It’s about setting realistic expectations for your service and then exceeding them while delighting your clients in the process.

#3 - Choose Your Clients Wisely

Not every client is a good fit for every business. Make sure that your client's goals and expectations match what you and your business can do - otherwise you’ll waste a ton of time and risk an unhappy client or chargeback. Just like in our first two strategies, communication is key to ensuring the right fit between you and your client.

#4 - Communicate Proactively

Staying ahead of concerns and updates isn’t just good service; it’s strategic client management. Don’t wait until a client is unhappy or confused to communicate. By the time a client has reached out to you or your support team, it might be too late.

Send your clients proactive updates about their progress and education material. Use email and text messages.

This builds trust and helps your clients know exactly what to expect along their credit repair journey.

#5 - AND MOST IMPORTANT FOR SCALING YOUR BUSINESS - Utilize Automation for Consistency

In a world where personal touch is valued, automation might seem impersonal. However, setting up automations to enhance the client experience without burning yourself out is crucial.

Amber uses a lot of software, such as ActiveCampaign and Zapier. It all connects to her Credit Repair Cloud, and that’s how she’s able to process tons of clients without having to hire extra team members.

This makes it easy to send proactive communication about changes to your client's account or their credit score. You can even set up fun and easy ways to celebrate milestones with clients. Maybe their score increased 25 points or they reached the 700 club.

Amber’s favorite is to send a Happy Birthday note using an Active Campaign automation set up on their birthdate. This unexpected celebration is a really personal touch and goes a long way with clients.

Don’t forget to add an automation asking for reviews or referrals when you know the client is happy.

It might sound like a big task, but with a few button clicks, any owner of a credit repair business can have automations running round the clock, every day of the year!
